Remembering one more Guru !

kasarabada.org welcomes all !

This week it is Balakanda Sarga 54. This is the start of ego struggles of sage Viswamitra.

Last few weeks saw us adding adieus to great ones whose association only ennobles one. One more such association is Shri KPP Nambiar who too passed away recently. When you work so closely with great personalities you learn several things. The learnings are for another occasion. But recounting some of the experiences is in itself a exhilarating experience. To have been associated with him in some of the ventures like Techno park Trivandrum is like a dream when you walk down the memory lane. We have added a tribute to Shri KPP Nambiar under one more thing. When you have strong personalities some of them achieve universal acceptance like Dr Kalam. Some of them would be so much involved with action that they would step on others toes who come in the way ! Not every body has the DNA of a teacher like Kalam.

last week we are added Bhagavadgita second chapter , Sankhya Yoga. One of the many famous lines is - jaatasya hi Maranam dhruvam - death is certain for one born - hence one shall not grieve is the gist of that line ! This week there is one such death which is universally mourned. The passing away of Dr Kalam , takes away a thinking man's ideal from among us. Lots of us are admirers from a distance. To be associated with him is a privilege. With the privilege of association you become that much more of an admirer. An admirer's notes is added under one more thing !

Time is like those fast moving waters that move on caring for none and carrying every body with that ! But there will be times when you come to a stop. With the passing away of Shri Basavapurniah garu that is one such moment to look back. With an association of nearly seventeen years too many thoughts fly by as soon as I think of him. One such thought is that he is a Karma Yogi . The same is presented under one more thing.

Balakanda continues with Sarga 53. In this Satananda continues the story of Viswamitra ! This Sarga continues on the first meeting of Viswamitra and sage Vasishta. Viswamitra hosts a stupendous feast for Viswamitra and his army with the help of Sabala - celestial cow ! Viswamitra demands that Sabala be given to him and Vasishta refuses. As usual it is carried with slokas in Devanagari, Telugu and Kannada , with meanings in English and Telugu.

Couple of weeks ago we started with Bhagavadgita. This is part of "Athato Brahma jignyaasa " stream. Bhagavadgita comes with all slokas of the chapter and the notes on the chapter separately. As we have been doing, the slokas are made available in Devanagari, Kannada and Telugu scripts. The commentary is in English only. We have started Bhagavadgita in Telugu two weeks ago as part of our Telugu home page. This is a collective effort of couple of people. Like many families for us too Bhagavdgita holds a family tradition. The story of our involvement with Bhagavadgita ( Our Gita) brings back happy reminiscences of days gone by and is detailed elsewhere !

Krishna tried to simplify complex rituals or issues so common people too can participate in such rituals . Some of things he simplified are Yagnya, Tapas etc so that these are within the reach of common people. Another word he redefined is Yoga. We are sure that in the times gone by these words caused confusion and through Krishna we have a better understanding of what they are. Today probably Yoga is being celebrated all over as though it is mostly related to physical exercise. From the vast ancient literature Yoga is more complex with definition of Ashtanga Yoga etc. But Krishna went farther, he said - Yogah karmasu Kausalam .

We have multilingual pages. An important part of language pages is Telugu. The Telugu home page is restructured . We want all our Telugu visitors to visit the new Telugu page. We created pages for Telugu Balakanda, Telugu Bhagavadgita and Subbalakshmi gari kalamlO. These are in addition to the earlier Vijayraghavrao gari Sundarakanda.

We are excited.

Happy Reading !
